What to bring with you
- Your referral.
- Current medications in their boxes.
- Suitable clothing including night wear. It is important to bring clothes that you will be comfortable to wear during the day. It is expected that patients will participate in group therapy and be physically active during the day.
- Toiletries.
- Suitable reading material and other diversional items.
- Mobile phone if you wish to make mobile phone calls.
- Please leave all valuables (e.g. jewellery) at home. We cannot take responsibility for the storage or safety of such items.
- It is important to bring your current medications with you to the hospital. All investigations including x-rays are important to your doctor for the review. These should be brought with you on admission.
What not to bring with you
- It is important that you only bring things necessary for your stay. Please do not bring items of high value as we do not accept responsibility for loss or damage.
- Camera's are not to be used in the hospital.
Fees and charges
- You'll be surprised at the number of inclusion in your fees. Therapy groups, meals, television and newspapers.
- Prior to attending the Centre, you will be provided with an estimate of fees in accordance with your level of private health cover.
- For your peace of mind it is advised that you contact your insurer.
- Your account will be sent to your insurer after your discharge and payment will be made directly to the Centre.
- If applicable, pharmacy concessions may apply.
- Self insured patients and those with overseas health cover are asked for payment on admission.
- Informed financial consent will be provided on attendance to the Centre.
Transport
Public transport is available via the local train station at Subiaco and the convenient bus service also available to bring patients and visitors to the area.
Parking for patients is not available on site during their stay. Patients may be affected by medications and driving a motor vehicle may be hazardous.

Good food promotes emotional healing and recovery. Healthy Body, Healthy Mind. The Marian Centre Subiaco recognises that food is an essential part of the continuum of patient care.
The catering department prides itself on the delivery of high quality, delicious and nutritious food that is specifically formulated by a dietician. The menu boasts fresh seasonal meats, fruits and vegetables and a wide variety of choice on the menu that is reviewed every three months.
Meals are created to cater for special dietary requirements. An appointment with our dietician can be arranged, if requested by the treating psychiatrist.
