Lifestyle Management & Exercise Therapy Group has commenced at The Marian Centre
The Marian Centre is proud to announce that we have successfully passed our second licensing inspection conducted by the Department of Health, Western Australia. Surveying all areas of operation within our facility, from housekeeping to occupational health and safety, The Marian Centre has improved significantly from our high standards last year and is looking forward to a year of continuous improvements to facilitate both our valued clients and staff.
The Australian Council on Healthcare Standards is recognised as an industry leader in the evaluation of quality of services in health care facilities through their Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program (EQuIP). The Marian Centre underwent an Organisation Wide Survey (OWS) over two days in March with three main areas evaluated; Clinical, support and corporate services. The Marian Centre has now achieved full accreditation with Dr Melissa Ree achieving the Excellent Achievement (EA) assessment in the area of Care and services are planned, developed and delivered based on the best available evidence and in the most effective way. Strategies and processes for care delivered with continuous quality improvement as a driver are integral to The Centre as demonstrated by achieving full accreditation. The Marian Centre is enthusiastic about our Self Assessment phase in February 2009.

7 January 2007 - Australian Council of Health Standards (ACHS) - Certification
The core accreditation program is the Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program (EQuIP), guiding organisations through a four year cycle of Self-Assessment, Organisation-Wide Survey and Periodic Review to meet ACHS standards. The ACHS undertakes a comprehensive EQuIP standards review and consultation process every four years to ensure the standards remain current, continue to reflect best practice and evidence and are achievable. A new determination (HIB 03/2007) made under Schedule 1, paragraph (1)(bj) of the National Health Act 1953 (the Act) has been registered with the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments (FRLI) on 16 March 2007 (FRLI no: 2007L007 16).
The new determination reflects changes to Schedule 5 (Second Tier Default Benefits). The Delegate of the Minister for Health and Ageing has approved the facilities listed below to receive Second Tier Default Benefits as recommended by the Second Tier Advisory Committee at its meeting of Tuesday, 13 February 2007.
