Referring to Therapy Programs
Day programs (Therapy Referral Form)
Patients who are not admitted to The Marian Centre as inpatients can be referred for the following Specialist Psychological Treatment Programs:
- Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy Program
- Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Program
- Adolescent Therapy Program
Best Practice Guidelines published by Australian Psychological Society, the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, & National Institute of Clinical Excellence advocate the use of the above therapy models in the treatment of psychiatric illness.
Inpatients
The stepped care approach enables patients to access a seamless continuity of care that is prescribed, given individual needs, acuity and stage of recovery.
Patients who are admitted as inpatients to The Marian Centre will have access to the following therapy services:
- Activities based therapy group
- Enhanced coping skills group
In accordance with the continuum of care, therapy staff will recommend an appropriate therapy program to support relapse prevention and provide further skills to assist patient recovery. This is located on the Multidisciplinary discharge form. Please indicate if you do not authorise the referral to the therapy program.
